When I travel to Launceston I can remember the old days when dad took us on a camping trip into the forest by the flowing river waters so that we could fish for trout. Back then campi9ng was a lot different to what it is today because there are so many things that I would not leave home without that we never had back then. The insect repellant is one thing that I can remember going without although there was repellant back then only we were not allowed to use it. We also only had the camp fire to keep us warm, cook our meals and make lights but now there is something different for each of those like the kerosene heaters, the cook top gas stove and our torches for light.
Now days the kids use state of the art fishing gear to lure the trout in but sixty years ago we had only a lure on a branch which was enough to catch us our days fill. The tents have improved too and are now rain proof and able to keep the bugs out but sleeping under the stars on a warm night is still appealing to me. In this modern era my sons hire a car to travel around in when we uses to come to Launceston for a camping trip we would borrow my uncles van or paddle the boat to the camping spot. The Launceston car rental agents make it much easier to travel so now we can look for different spots to camp even though we have never found one as good as the first.

Discovering all the fun things to do in Tasmania is all a part of the traveling experience for everyone that likes to sight see and do tours of a place. Launceston is one city that has plenty of appeal for tourists because it is the center of the Tasmanian tourist industry. The trout fishing farms have taken off over the last few years and put a lot of work into attracting tourist by upgrading their facilities and advertising their whereabouts. Personally I like to go trout fishing because it is a peaceful way to spend the day and if you are allowed to keep some of the fish they taste absolutely magnificent.
The Queen Victoria Museum is another attraction that will keep you busy and it is not very far from Launceston city. The museum holds many artifacts from the history of the colonization of Tasmania and helps to explain the role this island had in the beginning of the settlement of Australia. If you like native wildlife then the Ben Lomond national park will be something that you don’t want to miss. See if you can spot the differences between the mainland Australian wildlife and what Tasmania has to offer.
Because Tasmania is a big island with many places to go and things to see you should invest in a hire car to get you around. Launceston car rental agents have good quality cars at reasonable prices and their friendly service makes dealing with them very pleasant.
